She said a prayer to the gods for Sam, but it would be her final one. It was now Universe 2, Kara 0, and she could almost feel her heart shut down. The gods had clearly indicated for the last time that happiness wasn't in the stars for her . . .ever.

Tricia Helfer to Host Canada's Next Top Model
A little karma was behind model Tricia Helfer's freshly minted role as host of Canada's Next Top Model.

How could an Alberta-born supermodel justify subjecting young women to being judged on their skin, their thighs and their gait? Easily, considering that Tricia Helfer was once told she had an egregious bump on her lip, amplified by a teenage sneer—on a laundry list of faults that grew to include too much weight, "bad" legs and a short waist.
