Top sci-fi classics of all time p2pnet OT news:- Speaking of science fiction, whats the top sci-fi classic of all time from a list of 50? Yup. Star Trek. But you knew that already. And whats Number 50? 'Earth - Final Conflict'. Wed never heard of it either ; ) And in the middle at Number 25 is 'Stargate Atlantis' The list is the work of Boston.com which, decided to take a look at some of the sci-fi genre shows from yesteryear. Based on years of sci fi viewing experience and through a variety of online sources, we've come up with our picks for the Top 50 science fiction shows of all time. Earth - Final Conflict' aired from 1997 to 2002 and, followed a basic, but popular, storyline about aliens who come to Earth and solve the planet's problems. But is there more? Are there any other intentions? Of course. The story focuses on a double agent, William Boone (played by Kevin Kilner), who is in search of the truth. Ahhhh. The truth. heh Stargate Atlantis is a "spinoff of Sci-Fi Channel's original 'Stargate SG-1' series and is part of the current Friday night lineup on the channel".

October 4, 2005 19:35 - SFB-SGAC: Challenge #5 - Stargate Atlantis Weekly FanFic Challenge continues...
First, an apology: We are reading the stories and picking the winner from last week. We will be issuing a winner and providing a banner shortly. We're running a bit behind due to family illness, but intend to catch up this week. Thanks for your patience. Judy B.Without further hold-up here is: CHALLENGE #5 --------------- The two inanimate objects are: sponge, chaparral. We have three story starters for you this time, so read each one and pick the one you like.: 1. He did not wear the sleeveless undershirt commonly known as a "wife beater special". That was from his father's time. Instead, he insisted on the always pressed shirts that the Marines wore, shirts made of pre-shrunk cotton made to absorb sweat and still not look half-bad. He starred in the mirror at the picture it made; he could've been working out throwing himself around the gym floor. There was no sweaty patch on his back, and his dark hair was not in the slightest mussed. He simply looked like a man in a military undershirt. He sucked in his gut and stood to his full height then let it out. Slight paunch, only slight. He was still the stuff of legend with the ladies. 2. She was a peri, a beautiful, graceful woman. She was also an amalgamation of everyone she had ever known. She literally soaked up the lives of others, and would draw from them until they were dry, brittle...desolate. She liked the Wraith in a way. They reminded her of what she did, how she used her beauty to latch on to men and then manipulate them until there was nothing left. Her latest victim had no idea what he was up against. 3. Whenever we eat on Atlantis, I find myself grabbing that grilled cheese sandwich, side salad and unsweetened ice tea. I am beginning to feel like a grill cheese sandwich and I know for a fact that there are tomatoes hanging from my dark, wavy hair. There is lettuce sprouting from my ears, and I look at yet another boring meal. One thing I can say for visiting Earth from time to time -- Big Macs and fries and a vanilla/chocolate shake.. Challenge Ends: Monday, October 10, 2005 @ 11:59 p.m. *This is chaparral as in a dense, often impenetrable, growth of shrubs and thorny bushes. (noun) and not the High Chaparral of television fame. RULES: 22 Minutes, Two Inanimate Objects, an Opening paragraph and your creativity equals a challenge worth taking. Dust off your typewriter, sharpen your pencils, and clean-up your computer screens because The Buzz has added another challenge and this time it's for Stargate Atlantis. Our rules are simple (see below), always in the interest of fun, and if you are involved in any other ficathon, feel free to write this scene/ficlet/vignette as a part of that. This challenge runs weekly ending on Monday nights @ 11:59 p.m. Go here for the full rules: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sgachallenge/or to http://www.puddlejumperfics.com
October 5, 2005 09:21 - Wraithbait Is Moving
Sorry for the short notice, but I've only just received a mail about this. Apparently our host is going to move Wraithbait (and the other archives I run) to a new server.Tonight. Readers shouldn't notice a difference, as the site will be mirrored so it won't matter if you get the new or old server, but if you are an author, please do not submit anything to the archive until Thursday. 6th October (it should take place tonight, but it can take up to 24 hours for the dns name to propagate and make sure you're sent to the right version of the site). If you do, there is a risk you could be uploading to the site on the old server, and not the site on the new server. I've updated the first page with this info too. Unfortunately if you do upload it to the old server, you'll just have to upload it to the new one when we move. I'm not sure yet whether it will affect reviews left in those 24 hours. We'll just have to wait and see. Please forward this on if you think other people might need to see it. Thank you. -- love and Thorntons' chocolates Al
October 5, 2005 12:01 - Joe Flanigan in a new movie.
There's a new movie coming out with Joe. Details about it can be found at:http://www.oneira.com/silent.htm It appears Joe plays a guy named Regis, although I don't think he's going to be the one and only in this movie. Surprisingly, this movie is written without a script, something writer, director and producer, Bashar Shbib, seems to do from time to time. He says it lends to the improvisational tone of the piece.
Synopsis: Whats a girl to do when her biological clock is ticking, yet marriage and a husband are the furthest thing from her mind? SILENT MEN follows the trials and tribulations of one very modern-minded young woman, Patricia (Alexandra Woodward), as she tries to plan out her motherhood. With the enlisted help of her best friend Liam (Neil McDonough) she interviews on video dozens of men to find a suitable potential father for her child. But theres a catch: the relationship must be platonic! Patricia a thirty something SWF has had enough of relationships that go nowhere. Her biological clock is ticking. She decides to find a man and proposes to have a child with him. But there is one catch, their relationship must be platonic and he has to raise the child with her. Her female friends make up a list of eligible men for her to meet. She enlists her best friend, Liam, from high school, to videotape the vast array of bachelors. After meeting over twenty willing guys she realizes her search needs to be within herself. In the end she will choose the obvious candidate... The guys she interviews are an interesting mix: Accountant, Politician, The Homosexual, The Reborn Buddhist, The Religious Guy, The Art Dealer, The Old Fashioned Guy, The Mute, The Martial Arts Expert . . . the list goes on and these are her names for little Polaroids she has and not mine.) I'm not sure where Joe fits into all of this, but the movie looks interesting.Source: Elyse from Joe Flanigan Online and Marla over at the SGAHC list for the tip!
