October 10, 2005 17:45 - SPOILERS for Season 2
A very good news post on a number of Season 2 storylines that they're going to be exploring in the second half, which is airing in January:Battlestar Galactica Executive Producer Ron Moore and actor Jamie Bamer took part in a Q & A session at E!Online. Ron reveals whats coming up in Season 2, Part 2: Spoiler Below ===>> Highlight It if you want to read it. "Second half of the season starts in January. We shot the first ten then took a four week break in the summer, but were back. Right now were shooting episode 15 and we will continue shooting until first week in December." "The second half of the season obviously is going to deal with the cliffhanger where we left off, with Pegasus and Galactica about to do battle. First episode will deal with that. Then were going to do some episodes with, well, one of the characters whos going to have a major role to play is Lee Adama. Hes going to go on his own emotional journey and eventually find himself." "Theres a big Laura episode. You get to see her life on Caprice before the attack, and youll get to meet president Adar, who was the president she worked for when she was the Secretary of Education. And youll get to see a glimpse of what her life was like before she found out she got cancer and before the attack." "Theres a storyline where Baltars sort of growing affinity for the Cylons becomes more prominent and he starts becoming somewhat darker and scarier character as time goes on." "Were going to be doing big episodes with the other battlestar, Pegasus. Weve got a big fighter plane combat episode thats all about Kara and one of our other pilots named Kat and their competition with each other and sort of with themselves as regards to one Cylon raider out there that keeps coming back and killing pilots again and again." "Were gonna try to do a couple of really controversial episodes. Were gonna deal with some sort of hot-button issues of today that will be translated into Galacticas world. Like abortion is definitely going to become an issue on the show." "Were going to do a Cylon-oriented episode later in the season thats sort of a story thats told primarily from the cylons point of view for the first time. Sort of get inside their heads, see what theyre about when theyre not out chasing Galactica. And then weve got, of course, a big two-part finale where a lot of things are gonna change, and the shows gonna sort of make a fairly significant, radical change of direction." What about a renewal for Season 3? "Were having general conversations about it. The network hasnt made it a formal pickup. Id say the indications look good. But they dont have to pull the trigger on it for a few more months. Its just the way networks work, they will probably not do it until they have to. February or March. Im optimistic. Ive been optimistic since we did the miniseries that wed get picked up and I feel that were going to get picked up."Meanwhile, Jamie reveals (to the delight of his fans) that Apollo will be, urm, revealing a lot more of himself and will be seeing "lots of loving. Looots of looooving. Yeah, my bathrobe has been on my peg in my trailer almost every day it seems. Lots of relationship stuff. Lots of darkness. He gets into a very dark place and almost does away with himself. He gets lost in space for a bit and thinks nobodys going to rescue him and goes to a very dark moment which then affects everything else that he does. He questions everything that goes on and holds everyone else at a distance. Basically falls apart a bit and in that, he falls into many different arms, so its gonna to be interesting. Its a really good story for him in the second half of the season, and I think he ends up then commanding the Pegasus as well for a bit. Hes got a lot to do." Source: The CIC

October 12, 2005 11:42 - China astronauts blast confidently into space to Battlestar Galactica music
China's Daily reported that China's second manned spacecraft blasted off from a remote northwestern launch site on Wednesday, two years after the country joined an elite club of space powers. An elated Premier Wen Jiabao and other leaders were in Jiuquan to witness the launch, which has raised China's astronautic profile alongside new-found diplomatic and economic clout. "You will once again show that the Chinese people have the will, confidence and capability to mount scientific peaks ceaselessly," Xinhua news agency quoted Wen as telling the astronauts. State television carried blanket coverage of the launch, using a slightly modified version of the theme from the 1970s U.S. cult sci-fi series "Battlestar Galactica" as background music. October 13, 2005 10:41 - Jaime Bamber (Apollo) porn
Jamie Bamber, stud on BSG, has made it into the pages of Fleshbot:The new Battlestar Galactica, whose second season is now, tragically, ending, is almost certainly the best televised science fiction series ever. (Apologies to Firefly fans.) One could cite the quality of the acting and writing, or the silence of the space battles, which marks televisions belated acknowledgement that sound does not travel in a vacuum. But this is Fleshbot. So let us give credit to the shower scenes. In Final Cut, a recent episode, Lee Adama, aka Apollo, commander of the Viper pilots, struggles with a skimpy towel as a reality TV camera pans up and down his torso. Apollo is prime space totty, and the camera lingers lovingly for a good couple of minutes. October 20, 2005 16:38 - Ron Moore Talsk About the future of Battlestar
Author: Alan Stanley Blair Date: 10-20-2005 Source: E-Online! The following contains MAJOR spoilers for the second half of the season of "Battlestar Galactica."He faced a difficult task when he re-imagined the classic science fiction series "Battlestar Galactica," but over the course of almost two seasons, Ronald D. Moore has created a critical acclaimed story filled with destruction and despair, according to E Online! But one of the many things that has led to BSGs success is its separation from the Star Trek franchise. The following contains MAJOR spoilers for the second season of "Battlestar Galactica." He faced a difficult task when he re-imagined the classic science fiction series Battlestar Galactica, but over the course of almost two seasons, Ronald D. Moore has created a critical acclaimed story filled with destruction and despair, according to E Online! But one of the many things that has led to BSGs success is its separation from the Star Trek franchise. "I did want to stay away from the technobabble that I felt sometimes swamped the characters in Trek, and so I have intentionally avoided discussion of the technical workings of Galactica." Moore said in an interview with the SciFi Channel. "Also, in all honesty, the writing staff often felt that the technological detail of the Enterprise was as limiting on Trek as it was helpful. We'd established so much about the way the engines worked and didn't work that we sometimes found ourselves discarding perfectly good story ideas or scenes because it contradicted some bit of jargon we'd tossed out two seasons before." Aside from the technology jargon, the main outstanding difference between the two shows is perhaps the sheer level of character-driven stories and the relationships which make up the story. First and foremost is the hinted romance between Apollo and Starbuck, something that Moore believes the difficulty is in not being too coy about the situation. "Its a really delicate, fine line that youre trying to walk here, where yeah, you dont want to just suddenly get them together and now theyre a couple and all the sort of angst and tension is gone, which is whats drawing people into the relationship," he said. "But at the same time, you dont want to be coy about it and keep teasing and oh, they almost and oh, its just so cute, because that gets annoying, too. So what Im trying to do is just sort of be true to who these two characters are. I mean, they are kind of oil and water. Theyre very different people who have a strong personal connection and a strong sort of emotional attraction to one another, and a physical attraction, but its complicated by a lot of baggage and a lot of stuff, so I think the truth of that relationship is that it will always kind of dance in and dance out. But after the shocking events of "Pegasus," the half-season finale, the question on everyones lips is, what will happen next? It seems that in the second season, the situation will get much more complicated when Apollo starts to become involved in a love triangle with Dualla and Billy, plus Baltars affections for the Number Six Cylon (Gina) will continue to progress. The second half of the season obviously is going to deal with the cliffhanger where we left off, with Pegasus and Galactica about to do battle, said Moore. First episode will deal with that. Then were going to do some episodes with, well, one of the characters whos going to have a major role to play, Lee Adama. Hes going to go on his own emotional journey and eventually find himself. "Theres a big Laura episode," he said. "You get to see her life on Caprica before the attack, and youll get to meet president Adar, who was the president she worked for when she was the Secretary of Education. And youll get to see a glimpse of what her life was like before she found out she got cancer and before the attack." Moore also commented that there will be a very sinister story revolving around Gaius Balter and his growing affinity for the Cylons as well as some controversial episodes with "hot-button issues" such as abortion. But one story which will excite all fans is the prospect of a Cylon-oriented episode in which we might finally learn something more about their master plan and their ominous religion. Thats sort of a story thats told primarily from the Cylons point of view for the first time, he said. Sort of get inside their heads, see what theyre about when theyre not out chasing Galactica. And then weve got, of course, a big two-part finale where a lot of things are gonna change, and the shows gonna sort of make a fairly significant, radical change of direction. Reruns of the second season of "Battlestar Galactica" air Friday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the SciFi Channel.

October 31, 2005 10:32 - Relief And Sadness For BSG
Author: Alan Stanley Blair Date: 10-26-2005 Source: Trek Today The SciFi Channel may only have shown the first eleven episodes, but the series is almost completed its production cycle, and series creator Ronald D. Moore is both glad to see it finish and overcome with sadness."When I was at Trek, and doing 26 hours a year, the end of the season was more an occasion for the bleary-eyed and nearly brain-dead staff to plan their escapes from the Hart Building," said Moore. "It's also a reminder of just how fast this trip is going ...
